Discussion:
g-code/showview algorithm

Hi all,

I've scanned google, searched newsgroups etc. but can't find any info on the
implementation details of g-code here in Australia. I know the makers of the
g-code algorithm (showview, vcrplus, videoplus) are keeping secret about it,
but I thought it might have been decoded by now and some source code
available.

Does anyone know if this exists?

Thanks,
John

Thanks for the link, but unfortunately this is one person's opinion, and one
that I know is incorrect. There is a site in Germany that encodes/decodes
showview codes (therefore g-codes) so someone else knows the algorithm (see
here: http://www.sdt.net/minder/showview.htm ). I was just hoping that
someone had access to some code or knows the implementation details...

Thanks,
John

Both your links say the same thing that ML's link points out: The
solutions only apply to figures up to 6 digits in size. The second one
you cite is a bit more explicit about it than the first.
